This Privacy Policy explains how Linked Note AI App (“we”, “our”, or “us”) collects, uses, processes, and protects your information when you use our application.

1. Information You Provide

When using the App, you may input content such as notes, text entries, or other information that you choose to store.

The App supports granular end-to-end encryption (E2EE). You may enable E2EE for an entire note chain or for individual note entries, based on your preferences.

Content protected by E2EE is encrypted before storage. Due to the use of end-to-end encryption, the original unencrypted content can only be accessed by you and the users you explicitly choose to share the content with. No other parties, including the App operator or database administrators, are able to view the original content, even in the event of unauthorized database access.

For content that is not protected by E2EE, the App may process the content to support additional functionality.

2. How Information Is Processed

To provide core features, the App may process user-provided content in the following ways:

• Granular Encrypted Storage
   End-to-end encryption (E2EE) may be applied at the level of an entire note chain or individual note entries, based on user selection. Encrypted content is accessible only to authorized users through user-controlled actions.
  
• Vectorization for Search
   For content that is not encrypted, the App may generate vector representations (embeddings) to enable efficient search and matching functionality.
  
• AI-Assisted Features
   When you initiate search or question-related actions within a note chain, matched non-encrypted content may be transmitted to third-party AI services solely for the purpose of generating responses.
  
  If encrypted content exists within the note chain, such content will be transmitted to AI services only after your explicit confirmation.
   In such cases, encrypted content is temporarily decrypted on the user’s device or under user-controlled conditions and sent only as necessary to complete the requested AI-assisted operation.
  
  The App currently uses AI models provided via OpenRouter, including LLaMA-based models.

3. Information Sharing

You control whether and how your content is shared.

• Content is shared with other users only when you explicitly choose to do so
  
• Shared users may access the shared note chain or entries as intended within the App
  
• We do not share user content with third parties for advertising, marketing, or profiling purposes
  

4. Third-Party Services

The App may interact with third-party services to provide certain features, including AI-assisted responses.

These services process data only as required to perform the requested functionality and are governed by their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party service providers.

5. Data Storage and Security

 We apply different security measures based on the encryption status of your content:

• Encrypted Data: Content protected by E2EE is stored in an encrypted state. We do not hold the keys to decrypt this data.
• Unencrypted Data: Content for which you have not enabled E2EE is stored in its original format in our database to facilitate AI features and vector-based search.
• Security Measures: We use industry-standard authentication and secure transmission (HTTPS) to prevent unauthorized access. However, please be aware that absolute security cannot be guaranteed for any online service.

6. Data Retention

User-provided content is retained for as long as necessary to provide the App’s functionality or until you delete the content or your account, where applicable.

Encrypted content remains inaccessible to us in its unencrypted form throughout its retention period.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be made available within the App or on this page. Continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
